Alyth has a hit with HOGWARTS movie experience
Alyth’s Youth and Education Hub have been running Movie Experience evenings for their youth for 3 years this month. These innovative themed evenings at which the moviegoers discover what’s showing based on the clues around the synagogue, have been a huge hit at Alyth. They build friendships, confidence and create a rare social space for our children to be together.
This week the synagogue was turned into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This time the Youth and Education Hub ran an event for madrichim (youth leaders) to thank them for all their hard work and support that they give to the synagogue. Twenty- five, 14-17 year olds spent their Saturday evening at Hogwarts taking part in various activities, including a blindfolded maze through the forbidden forest and very real Quidditch practice. This was a very special event that was relationally so important to the madrichim. It was “the closest thing to Harry Potter I have ever seen” and “the magic really worked for me and my friends”.
