Chanukah at Alyth

Alyth celebrated the 7th night of Channukah in style with music, food and fireworks.  Los Desdoratos played two fantastic sets to an excited Saturday night crowd who sang along and danced in the aisles.

The 7th night festivities followed a week of celebrations and Channukah candle lightings with different groups in the community.  Highlights of the week included lighting the candles on second night Chanukah with the visitors to our Monday Club which has been going for over 40 years running social events every week for local people with special needs. Members of the Alyth Choral society joined us in lighting and song before their rehearsal for their Sunday performance of Haydn’s “The Creation”.

Like so many of our communities, Channukah provides us with an opportunity to be together for 8 nights to share the light and message of this inclusive festival.
